Oakes Running Trainers

The trainers developed for vegan inspiration, long distance endurance runner and multiple world record holder Fiona Oakes. Now available in new Black Edition.

You may have seen these trainers in the must see documentary about her life Running For Good (from the makers of Cowspiracy and What The Health).

They have been built and tested take the most extreme running environments experienced by Fiona from rugged trail running to the Sahara Desert to the North Pole.

The Vibram rubber injection outsoles provide super grippy traction and durability. The ballistic welded uppers created with Lyliane 3DMX advanced abrasion resistant materials can take the punishment of trail running.

WVSport models are designed and produced in the foothills of the Dolomite Hills, Italy.

Each model is created using CAD design technology that simulates the different phases of the walking experience.

Advanced components and construction methods are used to create the models like the use of Vibram soles and a patented Support System which means the fit is always comfortable and secure.

Development samples are lab tested for days for their abrasion resistance, durability and water resistance. New models can take months sometimes years to develop.

The factory features one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Italy which means that 70% of the power used to produce WVSport footwear is from solar.

As well as working under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law the factory has their own Charter of Human Responsibilities (or Code of Ethics) which helps ensure the company is committed to respecting the rights, work and dignity of its employees.

For sourcing the materials to create each model we work with the factory using a traceability system that enables us to trace back every step in the production process so we always know what has been used and where it has come from.

Regular sizing. Order your usual size. If you are a half size order up. Runner type: Neutral gait. 10mm drop differential. D width fitting.

PRODUCT CARE:

High quality vegan leathers and suedes to make our footwear, you will find your purchase requires little attention to keep looking as good as new.

These trainers do not spoil or stain when they get wet. In-fact they perform really well in wet and muddy conditions. Unlike leather or suede our materials do not spoil or mark even when in contact with road salt and snow slush in winter conditions.

This footwear is water resistant. This means you can wear for extended periods of time in light rain, walk through shallow puddles, walk through wet grass, light snow and have dry feet. We do not recommend wearing in deep snow, deep puddles, running water or extended periods of heavy rain. In these cases water will penetrate the footwear, usually through the lace holes or around the tongue giving you wet feet.

You can wear these in colder temperatures, however they are not insulated. We recommend wearing a thick insulating sock to keep your feet warm in freezing temperatures or you may get cold feet.

Footwear really easy to clean. Here are some general cleaning instructions:

Vegan leather uppers Wipe down with warm water with a mild soap solution and a cloth or brush. To dry pad down with paper towels or a towel. Do not place too close to direct heat sources as this can damage the material. Polish can be used to bring out a shine and return colour. Any synthetic product should work just fine, apply as described in the instructions. It is recommended you test an inconspicuous area first.

Vegan suede uppers Wait until dry then brush with a suede brush or something similar. For more extreme cases you can wipe down with warm water with a mild soap solution and a cloth or brush. To dry pad down with paper towels or a towel. Do not place too close to direct heat sources as this can damage the material. You should not expect water marks as the material does not mark or stain like conventional suede when it gets wet.

Please do not apply waterproof or other protective treatments. This is because these treatments are not necessary and can mark and damage the materials. These treatments are not meant for vegan leather, they do not react well when applied and they do not react well when applied.
